Lucifer's Fall

A friend told me a local group was making a feature in Knoxville and they were looking for PAs willing to work for free.  I was willing to come help out when I could but wanted to do more than PA stuff. I just started doing what I knew how to do and next thing I knew I was doing all kinds of stuff.  For a while my routine on set was to take care of some 2nd AC stuff, fetch a lens, set up the monitor etc.  Then I would join grip and electric to finish lighting.  Just before we started to roll I would check in with the sound department to grab a boom and let them tell me where to stand.  I took a day off since well I was working on my own time anyway.  When I came back the offered me a day rate so as to make sure they could keep me on set.
We spent most of the shoot in a warehouse studio kind of situation.  The interior of our main location was built in the middle of the old Wilson Glass building on Jackson Ave.  This space and the story allowed us all kinds of opportunities to work with cool effects, interesting sets, and even a few stunts.  I even got to ride in a helicopter after I helped mount a camera to the side of it.
